Veterinary emergency service

In case of a pet emergency or if you find yourself with an injured stray animal, if your family veterinarian closes or is simply not available to you, call the veterinary emergency service for the contact details of the vet on call.

City Animal Control
If you find yourself with an injured stray animal, please contact the City animal control service, daily from 06:00-22:00, for the animal to be collected for further treatment and care. This service is free of charge.

At 22:00 City Animal Control becomes inactive: After 22:00 please call the veterinary emergency service for further information. Please note that any costs have to be incurred by you.

City Animal Control is not in charge of wild animals. In those cases, please contact the Forestry Office or the nearest police station.

Bird emergency
If you find a bird that appears to be injured, sick, or orphaned and that needs help, you can take the bird to the emergency centre for wild birds, after prior appointment by telephone.
