The Research Institute of Automotive Engineering and Vehicle Engines Stuttgart (FKFS) concentrates on the research and development of the complete system 'motor vehicle' in view of global and future environmental, efficiency, quality and safety requirements.
As independent institute, the FKFS researches and develops for national and international automobile industries. For this purpose it cooperates closely with the Institut für Verbrennungsmotoren und Kraftfahrwesen (IVK) at Stuttgart University. Further university institutes and other research institutions, which busy themselves with questions about cars, also number among its cooperation partners.
