Loans
A library user's card can be obtained simply with minimal fuss from any of the City Library facilities. Adults pay an annual fee of 15 Euros a year or 4 Euros a month. For more information relating to library loans, please see the next page:
The City Library online catalogue
It is possible to research the collection of Stuttgart City Library online. The displayed search results page contains information on the location and availability of the media and also whether it is possible to reserve copies currently out on loan. The start page permits simple search criteria to be entered such as title, author or topic. A detailed search menu also permits research according to media type, branch or year of publication. The search results can be sorted according to different criteria and more precisely defined filters can be used. Media tips and information (in German) about new book, CD, DVD and other arrivals can be conveniently accessed under "Tipp aktuell".

Information and advice
The City Library team will be pleased to help you search for information in the library's book and media resources, on the Internet or in databases. Whether you require the information for a lecture, an essay, for your career or just for your own personal interest, is of no consequence. The City Library also offers an individually tailored research service.
If it is not possible to answer a question straight away, the team will pass the visitor enquiry on to an extended network of experts or provide information on institutions which will be able to help with special requirements.
This service is available in the central library and in all district library branches.

Anyone with a valid library user card for Stuttgart City Library is entitled to use the available internet and PC stations for research, evaluation of databases or as a word processing facility. There are stations in the following locations:
