Visits to the Foreigners' Registration Office at Eberhardstraße 39 are only possible with an appointment confirmation. Appointments can usually be made using the contact form (opens in a new tab) or by telephone. The team responsible for you is determined by the first letter of your surname. Due to staffing capacities, it may take longer before we can offer you an appointment. Therefore, please be patient and wait for a response from the Foreigners' Registration Office.

Book appointments online
You can book an appointment online for some services provided by the Foreigners' Registration Office.
Service point of the foreigners authority
You can take care of special immigration matters at the Servicepoint of the Immigration Office. You can book an appointment for this online. Available appointments are displayed for the next two weeks and within the limits of daily staff capacity.
You can come to the Servicepoint with the following requests:
- Transferring an existing residence permit to a new national passport (so-called "transfers")
- Submission of declarations of commitment
- Submission of passport loss notifications and notifications of loss of residence documents
- Checking and issuing so-called "non-expiry certificates" in accordance with Section 51 (2) of the Residence Act
If the quota of online appointments is exhausted, please try again at a later date. Appointments can be changed, canceled or postponed at any time so that they are available again. If staffing is available, new online appointments for the transfer of an existing residence permit will also be activated daily at around 8 a.m., only on Thursdays at around 9 a.m.
Note on the declaration of commitment for a visitor's visa: You can also obtain the declaration of commitment for a visitor's visa directly at any citizens' office - without an appointment.
Issue of electronic residence permit (eAT)
Residence permits applied for before 17.02.2025:
As soon as you receive the PIN letter from the Bundesdruckerei, you can book an appointment online to collect your residence permit
Residence permits applied for since 17.02.2025:
As soon as you have received an email notification that your eAT has arrived at the Foreigners' Registration Office, you can book an appointment online to collect your residence permit.
If you have not provided an email address, you can book an appointment to collect your eAT at the earliest 6 weeks after applying.
Emergency appointment
Has your residence permit or fictitious certificate already expired or will it expire in the next seven days? Only then can you apply online for an emergency appointment (opens in a new tab).
