Anniversaries
Requirements and information: On your 90th, 95th and from your 100th birthday onwards, you will automatically be designated for recognition by the City of Stuttgart. It is necessary that you live in Stuttgart at the time of the anniversary.
On your 90th or 95th birthday , you will receive a letter from the Lord Mayor and a bottle of wine. On your 90th birthday, you will also receive a certificate from the Minister President. The gifts are delivered by the district offices in the outer city districts. In some cases they are written to and in some districts delivered by the district leader. In the inner city districts, a messenger delivers the gifts.
From your 100th birthday onwards, you will be asked whether you would like a visit from a representative of the city. This may be a mayor, the head of the district or the head of the protocol department, or the respective deputy. You will also be asked whether a photographer may be present at the gift presentation. You will receive a flower arrangement (women) or a bottle of wine (men) as a gift. If you do not wish to be visited, the gifts and certificates will be sent to you. On your 100th birthday, you will also receive a certificate from the Federal President in the post.
Information for the press: If you do not wish your 90th, 95th and 100th birthday to be published in the newspaper, you can inform the Citizen office Mitte (opens in a new tab) by telephone or in writing to the Office for Public Order.
Marriage anniversaries
Requirements and notes: A municipal appreciation is only possible from the 50th wedding anniversary. It must be communicated by the spouses or relatives in good time - at least six weeks before the festive day. You can do this directly at your citizens' office. Subsequent publication of the marriage anniversary is not possible. A list of citizens' offices, including contact addresses and telephone numbers, can be found at the bottom of this page. If the jubilarians live in one of the inner districts of Stuttgart (Central, North, East, South or West), please contact the Protocol, Receptions and Honors Department directly. Marriage anniversaries must also reside in Stuttgart at the time of their wedding anniversary to be considered.
If you are celebrating your Golden Wedding Anniversary (50 years), you will receive a certificate from the Lord Mayor and the Prime Minister as well as a bottle of wine. In some cases, the gifts are delivered by the district mayor, or a deputy. Otherwise, a messenger delivers the gifts.
For the Diamond Wedding Anniversary (60 years), you will be asked if a representative of the Municipality may come by with or without the press and photographer. Otherwise, you will receive the gifts (certificate of the Lord Mayor and Prime Minister, a bottle of wine and a flower arrangement) by messenger.
For Iron Wedding (65 years), Grace Wedding (70 years) and Crown Jewel Wedding (75 years ), you will also receive a certificate from the Lord Mayor and the Prime Minister, a bottle of wine and a flower arrangement. In addition, you will receive a certificate from the Federal President, which will be delivered by mail.

Request transmission block
As stipulated in the Federal Registration Act (Bundesmeldegesetz, BMG), the registration office may publish the names, doctoral degrees, addresses, dates and types of anniversaries of old age and marriage and transmit them to elected officials, the press and radio for the purpose of publication. You can object to this without giving reasons and apply for a transmission block.
You can simply print out the form on this page, fill it in and then send it by post to the citizens' office responsible for your city district (a copy of your ID is not required). Alternatively, you can also conveniently apply for the transmission block via our online service.

At the moment, waiting times of up to 2 hours must be expected at the citizens' offices. In the event of very high visitor numbers and the associated longer waiting and processing times, the issue of waiting tokens must regularly be stopped before the end of office hours.
Passport and registration matters are currently being processed as a priority. If you visit the Citizens' Office in connection with registering or re-registering your place of residence or applying for an ID card or passport, you can also deal with your registration matters there. For registration matters on your own, please contact the registration office.
