Pig Museum

The Pig Museum is probably the most curious of the museums in Stuttgart. Here, everything revolves around the lucky charm with the curly tail - from zoology to art and culture to mythology. The Pig Museum is housed in the historic buildings of the former Stuttgart slaughterhouse.

In 1992, operations at the Stuttgart abattoir were discontinued. The listed administrative building in Art Nouveau style is now a pig museum.

The Pig Museum has been delighting visitors since 2010. More than 50,000 exhibits from all over the world can be admired there. So that the visitor does not lose the overview, they are distributed over 24 themed rooms. In the "Ancestral Gallery," for example, you can learn all about the different breeds of pigs.

The "Library" has numerous books on the pig, from children's books to technical literature. Touching and reading are expressly permitted here. And the "Pig Calendar" illustrates how the pig is honored all over the world throughout the year. If you're not a fan of pigs yet, you will be after visiting this museum at the latest.
