Information event on the future of the Bad Cannstatt station district

The city of Stuttgart wants to transform the station district in Bad Cannstatt into a lively, multi-purpose urban space.

The Bahnhofsquartier connects Bad Cannstatt station with Wilhelmsplatz.

To this end, a planning team was commissioned to carry out an urban planning study on the future development of the district, from which a utilization concept and an overall urban, open space and traffic concept are to be drawn up. The station quarter connects Bad Cannstatt station with Wilhelmsplatz in the transition to the old town. The planned development is intended to create a mixed-use district for all generations and cultures.

In the first half of 2025, three independent neighborhood ideas for the Bahnhofsquartier were developed in collaboration with local stakeholders, the administration and politicians. These variants offer different approaches to the use and design of the area, which currently functions mainly as a transit area.

The state capital of Stuttgart is now inviting citizens to get involved in the planning process. At a public information event with Building Mayor Peter Pätzold on Tuesday, July 15, at 6 p.m. in the Bad Cannstatt district town hall, Marktplatz 10, all interested parties will have the opportunity to find out about the current status of the feasibility study, ask questions and share their opinions and suggestions.

There will also be an opportunity to take a tour of the district with the project team at 4.30 pm. The meeting point is Bahnhofstraße 14. Interested parties can register by July 10 at  beteiligungstudiomaltaeu.
