Silhouette Weissenhofsiedlung

Weissenhofsiedlung Promoters Association

The membership of the Verein der Freunde der Weissenhofsiedlung e.V., founded in 1977, currently comprises some 80 architects, scholars and designers. The organization's mission is to provide information on the individual architects for the Weissenhofsiedlung, the concept pursued in each case, the overall urban design concept and the significance of this development in the history of art and architecture. It also aims to integrate the Weissenhofsiedlung into current projects.

One of the association's first acts was to issue a call to preserve the Weissenhofsiedlung. This appeal was formulated in 1977 by the campaign's initiators, Bodo Rasch and Berthold Burkhardt. Its success was demonstrated by the restoration of the Weissenhofsiedlung in the years 1981 to 1987.

The association has since October 2006 been in charge of the Weissenhofmuseum im Haus Le Corbusier.
