Yellow bag

In Stuttgart, I put sales packaging in the yellow bag. I place it on the sidewalk for collection the evening before at the earliest or by 6:30 a.m. at the latest. The bags are collected every three weeks.

The disposal of sales packaging in Germany is regulated by the Packaging Act. This is a privately organized supply structure known as the “Dual System” (DSD). In Stuttgart, Reclay Systems GmbH from Herborn is responsible for the disposal of packaging waste. It has commissioned the company Kurz to do this.

The company responsible for the yellow sack in Stuttgart is KURZ Entsorgung GmbH.

Yellow bag: this belongs in it

In general, the following packaging belongs in the yellow bag:

  • Sales packaging made of plastic, such as cups, bottles, foils, tubes
  • Sales packaging made of metal, e.g. aluminum packaging, food and beverage cans, crown caps
  • Sales packaging made of composite material, e.g. milk cartons, juice cartons
  • no waste paper (green garbage can)
  • no used glass (used glass container)

In the case of packaging made of cardboard and plastic (so-called blister packaging), the two materials can also be separated from each other. In this case, the cardboard belongs in the green garbage can and the foil in the yellow bag.

Incorrectly filled bags will be marked with red stickers and will not be taken away. These yellow bags must be disposed of properly by the owner. The disposal vehicles of the contracted company have yellow bags with them.
