Family support

The promotion of families within the framework of child and youth welfare is aimed on the one hand at supporting and advising parents in their upbringing. On the other hand, it aims at maintaining positive living conditions for young people and their families as well as a child- and youth-friendly environment.

Family support must ensure that the different life situations and special issues of those seeking advice are taken into account, which means, for example, offering culturally sensitive advice.

In addition to daycare, youth work and educational assistance, family support includes the following services:

Role of planning

The youth welfare planning department ensures the cross-agency networking of family education providers in Stuttgart, organizes cross-agency exchange meetings and supports the providers as a point of contact for the needs-based further development and quality assurance of existing services that are funded by the Stuttgart Youth Welfare Office.

Current development topics

A city-wide networking of family education providers (district and family centers, child and family centers and parent seminar youth welfare office Stuttgart). Creation of a concept for family education in Stuttgart, which should describe the family education offers and their further development goals. Inventory analysis with parent participation on the topic of family education to take into account the wishes and needs of parents.
