Adoption in Stuttgart

For couples who cannot have children for various reasons, adoption is often the only option. The Adoption Service of the Youth Welfare Office of the state capital Stuttgart will advise you on all questions concerning this topic.

If you would like to take in a child, you can get advice from us. The same applies if you yourself, for whatever reason, would like to give up a child for adoption or have already done so in the past. We also provide comprehensive advice to adults who were adopted as a child and are now looking for an origin.

Making an appointment for adoption counseling

Adoption is a difficult and emotional topic that raises many questions and therefore cannot and should not be dealt with on the spur of the moment. It is best to make an appointment by telephone so that we can take enough time for you. You can find the contact details of the Adoption Office in the contact box below.

You can also find further information on the subject of adoption on the  website of Caritas (opens in a new tab) and the  Evangelischer Verein für hilfsbedürftige Kinder Stuttgart e.V. (opens in a new tab)

Get access to files

As an adopted person, you can inspect your placement file to obtain information about your origin and life history. This only applies if the interests of other persons concerned, especially the birth parents, do not conflict with and outweigh this.

You can also inspect your files at the registry office. You will be assisted by a person from the adoption agency.

Your opinion counts! We attach great importance to a trusting cooperation with parents and families. If something is not going as you expect, please contact us at  adoptionstuttgartde. Every message will be carefully checked and treated confidentially. You will usually receive feedback within two weeks.
