Counseling services must ensure that the different life situations and special issues of those seeking advice are taken into account, which means, for example, offering culturally sensitive counseling.
Field of action
The Youth Welfare Office of the City of Stuttgart offers a wide range of services to advise children, young people and families: The eleven youth and family counseling centers of the Stuttgart Youth Welfare Office offer decentralized support to those seeking advice on a wide range of issues and problems, for example, family emergencies, separation and divorce, or stress in the family and at school.
In addition to the municipal counseling centers, there are other counseling services in Stuttgart sponsored by the Youth Welfare Office at independent providers on various topics such as pregnancy, family and educational counseling, migration, health, sexualized violence and others (for more information, see downloads).
Role of planning
Youth welfare planning ensures the further development, networking and quality assurance of existing counseling services and organizes provider conferences according to §78 SGB VIII. New needs are identified in consultation with the counseling centers and the independent providers and necessary additional services are developed.
Current development topics
In addition to counseling services sponsored by the Youth Welfare Office, there are numerous other services in the state capital of Stuttgart for citizens seeking advice on various issues, such as housing security, health issues or life in old age. The plan is to set up a counseling platform for Stuttgart that all those seeking advice and institutions can use to obtain information about the entire range of services in Stuttgart.
