The representative for people with disabilities

The representative is the contact partner in these cases:

• People with disabilities have questions or difficulties
• Disadvantage and discrimination because of a disability
  Discrimination means:
  People are treated worse
  because they have a disability.
  create an inclusive city society in Stuttgart
• actively participate in disability-political topics
  and help to shape

The commissioner has these tasks:

• represent the interests of people with disabilities
• mediate between citizens and the city administration
• support offers for a self-determined life
• provide opportunities for participation in the life of the city society support voluntary members of organizations
• support self-help groups of people with disabilities
• informing the city administration about the interests and issues of
  inform people with disabilities
• advise politicians on how inclusion can be improved in Stuttgart
• implement the measures from the Stuttgart Action Plan
  support the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
  
  The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is a kind of treaty.
  Many countries around the world have signed this treaty.
  The treaty aims to make life better for people with disabilities.

Mrs. Jennifer Langer is in the state capital Stuttgart
the representative for people with disabilities.
She states:
"Inclusion means to me:
Every person is different.
But all people find their place in society.
More inclusion also means more tolerance and respect.
And it means fewer barriers."

• Ms. Langer went to school in the district of Böblingen.
  She graduated from high school there.
• From 2008 to 2011, she studied at the University of
  for Public Administration and Finance in Ludwigsburg.
  She studied public administration.
• She has done 4 internships at the Stadt-Verwaltung Stuttgart from 2007 to 2011.
  Praktika is the plural of the word internship.
• She worked in the field of integration assistance for people with disabilities from 2011 to 2016.
  She did this at the state capital of Stuttgart.
• She studied from 2013 to 2016 at the University
  of Public Administration and Finance in Ludwigsburg.
  She did a second degree on public administration.
  She also continued working while doing so.
• She was the representative for people with disabilities in Calw County from 2016 to 2020.
• She was responsible for inclusive workplaces at the city administration of Stuttgart from 2020 to 2021.

Since December 15, 2021, she has been
the representative for people with disabilities in Stuttgart.

Ms. Langer is a member of many different groups.
Some of the groups also work for
the whole state of Baden-Württemberg.
Ms. Langer helps a lot with these groups,
to further develop the topics of inclusion and participation.

Ms. Langer is a member of these groups, for example:

• State Working Group of Representatives for the Interests of
  of people with disabilities in Baden-Württemberg
• Passenger Advisory Board of the VVS
  VVS is the abbreviation for Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart.
• Advisory council for people with disabilities
• Passenger advisory board of the Verkehrs-Verbund Stuttgart
• Advisory council for people with disabilities
• Advisory Council Inclusion Together - For Each Other
