Advisory Board for People with Disabilities

The Advisory Council for People with Disabilities of the state capital Stuttgart supports the municipal council, its committees and the city administration as an expert body.

The Advisory Council People with Disabilities supports with advice and promotion of inclusion and participation in the state capital.

The newly elected Advisory Council for People with Disabilities of the City of Stuttgart held its constituent meeting on September 30, 2024 at Stuttgart City Hall. The term of office of the previous expert members ended with the constituent meeting of the new municipal council in July 2024.

Interested experts who would like to represent the interests of people with disabilities on the advisory board were able to contact the office in advance. Various criteria had to be met when selecting the new advisory board members, as the advisory board should represent a variety of people with different types of disabilities, age groups and backgrounds. The selection committee consisted of the representative for the interests of people with disabilities, the head of the office for the interests of people with disabilities, a member of the general representative body for people with disabilities and a member of the Department of Social Affairs, Health and Social Integration.

Together with Mayor Dr. Sußmann, the search committee made a preliminary selection of members and deputies, which the municipal council unanimously confirmed on September 19, 2024. The new expert members and deputies of the Advisory Board for People with Disabilities were elected for five years.
