The canteen, which opens onto the schoolyard and the existing building, is located on the first floor. The centrally located dining area is flanked by the reheating kitchen with food servery, scullery, storage and technical rooms, as well as sanitary facilities and storage areas.
On the two upper floors, a total of seven classrooms, a staff room, four student workrooms, two student communication areas, restrooms, and storage and support spaces have been constructed. The building as a whole, including the elevator, was designed to be barrier-free. The outdoor areas around the new building were rezoned and landscaped with seating. Two barrier-free parking spaces were realized on the existing parking lot and nine additional parking spaces were realized on the schoolyard. A total of 60 bicycle parking spaces were also created.
The ventilation systems with heat recovery of the cafeteria, kitchen and classrooms were located on the roof of the building. Due to the visibility from the main school building, all units were compact, placed centrally on the roof and visually enclosed.
To the outside, the different uses of the floors can be read: the cafeteria floor forms a base for the classroom floors above with a masonry facing shell, which is articulated with projections and recesses. These are given a uniform facing shell with stretcher bond. Brick louvers structure and rhythmize the continuous window bands of the classrooms. The bricks with their haptic, with the color scheme and the aluminum tone of the window bands complement the adjacent buildings, the existing high school and the gymnasium.
