The counseling team consists of social workers and social pedagogues and cooperates with the specialized medical services of the health department. The entire team is bound by confidentiality and the counseling is free of charge.
If necessary, the counseling sessions are conducted with an interpreter; the team also speaks sign language. Home visits are also possible if you cannot make an appointment with us.
Counseling for adults with chronic illness or disability
The counseling service is aimed at adults up to the age of 65 with a physical or mental disability, a visual or hearing impairment or a chronic illness, as well as their relatives. One focus of the counseling is assistance with household, medical and nursing care. We provide information on the various options and work with you to develop an individual solution.
With the help of the counseling services, we jointly develop a perspective for you and help you with specific questions. The counseling includes the following topics, among others:
- Relief and support for me and my family
- Coping with limitations or disabilities
- Applying for financial assistance
- Social legal claims and legal aids such as care allowance, severely disabled person's card, compensation for disadvantages, basic security, benefits according to the Social Codes II, IX and XII, sickness benefit or pension
- Specific facilities for people with disabilities
- Aids
Counseling for parents with children with chronic illness or disability
We offer special counseling services for parents and relatives of children and adolescents with severe developmental delays, premature babies, chronically ill, visually or hearing impaired, or mentally or physically disabled children and adolescents.
One focus of the counseling here is above all the support of the children and adolescents, but also the relief of their relatives. We provide comprehensive information on these topics:
