With the "Rössle Kids" children's bike rental program, the state capital aims to support low-income families and single parents and provide them with affordable access to children's bikes. This target group generally has little financial leeway to buy children's bicycles for their growing children in addition to everyday necessities. A prerequisite for the rental is the possession of a Stuttgart Bonuscard + Culture or Stuttgart FamilyCard. In addition, the bicycle must be rented for at least six months.
The children's bikes are rented out on behalf of the state capital by the social enterprise Neuen Arbeit gGmbH (opens in a new tab), which provides the bikes in various sizes at the bike service stations in Bad Cannstatt and Vaihingen.
