What are the offers?
The specialist unit for digital participation in old age at the Office for Social Affairs and Participation performs various tasks and offers citizens and network partners competent advice and support. The support services at the digital locations depend on the local circumstances, needs and opportunities. In cooperation with committed individuals, associations, organizations and initiatives, "digital locations" have been set up where interested people can develop and expand their digital skills.
Interested parties can take part in free group courses, individual consultations or open discussion groups, for example: In a group, depending on the level of interest, a lecture is given on a specific topic, individual concerns are clarified or concrete help is provided in individual consultation hours (for example, when booking a train ticket or transferring data to a new smartphone). Some locations also offer outreach help from so-called digital pilots.
In addition, regular talks and events are organized for people interested in digital matters, which also encourage social interaction.

Training courses: Become a digital helper!
Our support services in the social area are provided by digital helpers. These are volunteers who acquire a wide range of skills for supporting and accompanying older people through training. The Office for Social Affairs and Participation's specialist unit for digital participation in old age offers a comprehensive range of training courses in conjunction with cooperation partners.
Together with the LFK (Landesanstalt für Kommunikation), additional training units for civically engaged people are being developed in the "Digital dabei" (opens in a new tab) project. Further training modules are available for digital trainers. These impart content and skills to our digital helpers. In addition, the comprehensive "starter pack" collection of materials (opens in a new tab) for digital helpers has already been created. This material platform contains elaborated schedules for accompanying units and additional information that can be downloaded free of charge.
