As the owner of a property, you must dispose of wastewater properly.
This means that you must connect the wastewater to the public sewer system via a property drainage channel.
Rainwater may be an exception to this rule.
Waste water is
- Water that is contaminated through use,
- Water that has changed in its properties or composition,
- rainwater run-off and collected from paved surfaces.
Sewer systems collect and transport wastewater. Sewage treatment plants treat it and then discharge it into bodies of water. In some cases, industrial plants also treat wastewater and discharge it directly into bodies of water.
In the interests of safe wastewater disposal, wet wipes, kitchen paper or newspaper must not be disposed of in the toilets.
Diapers and other hygiene products as well as disinfectant wipes should also not be disposed of in the toilet, but in the residual waste. These materials are tear-resistant and do not dissolve in water.
Only toilet paper may be disposed of in the toilet.
