The rainwater fee is paid by anyone who drains rainwater from their roof, parking lot or yard, for example, into the public sewer system. The fee is calculated based on the built-up and paved areas of a property. It can be minimized through ecological measures such as a green roof or a cistern. The rainwater fee is claimed in the property tax assessment by the municipal treasury.
You can submit inquiries about the rainwater fee online, for example, it may be that your rainwater fee is reduced by ecological measures. You must provide evidence of this, e.g. tradesmen's invoices, photos, drainage plans.
