Services offered by the municipal women's shelter

The municipal women's shelter of the state capital Stuttgart offers protection, accommodation and support for women and their children after domestic violence. Domestic violence is partner violence between adults in close social relationships and usually consists of a combination of control, threats and direct violence. This includes all forms of physical, psychological and sexual abuse as well as economic, financial and social oppression.

At the municipal women's shelter, women seeking protection and women at risk receive

  • help in crisis situations
  • Psychosocial counseling to deal with their experiences of violence
  • Advice on separation and divorce
  • Information and support in securing a livelihood and developing a new perspective on life

Admission to the municipal women's shelter is possible regardless of nationality, religion or origin and via various forms of funding (self-payers, SGB II, SGB XII, Asylum Seekers Benefits Act).

The women's shelter helps women and women and their children if they are being physically or emotionally abused in their partnership or are at risk of abuse.

This can be

  • if you are being sexually abused
  • if you are being put under pressure.
