Conveniently pick up ID cards and passports at your front door? It's possible!
With direct delivery, ID documents can be handed over at the front door from May 1, 2025. When making your application, let the staff at the Citizens' Offices know that you would like to use the direct delivery option.
Please note that the ID document can only be handed over to you personally. You must identify yourself with a valid ID document (ID card or passport) before handing over the consignment at the front door. If you wish to be informed of the expected delivery date, the delivery service provider will send you an e-mail. If you are not at home at the time of delivery, the consignment will be held for collection at the post office for seven working days. If you do not collect the item with your ID document within this time, it will be forwarded to the authorities.
This service is available for ID cards and eID cards from the 16th birthday and for passports from the 18th birthday. Express passports can only be collected from the authority.
