Apply for funding in day care

General
- You and your child are residents of Stuttgart.
- Your child has not yet reached the age of 14.
- Your child day care provider has a care permit or a suitability certificate.
- There is a valid care contract or employment contract between you and your child day care provider.
Requirements under 1 year
- You can prove a special need due to work activity or other special circumstances (see §24 Abs. 1 SGB VIII).
Requirements from 1 year
- Sufficient measles protection or, in exceptional cases, proof of medical contraindication.
Prerequisite from 2 years
- sufficient measles protection or in exceptional cases proof of medical contraindication
Prerequisites from the 3rd birthday
- You can prove that there is currently no daycare place available for your child.
- Sufficient measles protection or, in exceptional cases, proof of medical contraindication.

Prerequisites for daycare that complements daycare at daycare centers, schools, and after-school care centers
- You can prove that your child's care needs exceed the opening hours of the other facilities.
- Sufficient measles protection or, in exceptional cases, proof of medical contraindication.

1. As soon as we receive your application, it will be entered into our system and checked for compliance with the requirements.
2. After your application has been checked, you will receive a letter of receipt. This letter may be used to request additional documents or to point out special features that have come to light during the review.
3. After all documents have been received, your application will be processed. If the care can be funded, you will receive a notice of approval for the financial support. You will also receive a cost contribution notice in which the amount of your monthly cost contribution is determined. In the event of a rejection, you will receive a rejection notice.
   

The cost contribution is calculated according to the amount of care time, the age of the child and the number of children in your household. Family cards and bonus cards are taken into account.

• Application for support in day care according to §24 i.V.m. §23 SGB VIII or application for further approval of support in child day care pursuant to §24 i.V.m. §23 SGB VIII
• Childcare contract, concluded between the parent or guardian and the childcare provider.
• For third-country nationals: Proof of valid residence under aliens law
• For unmarried parents: declaration of custody, divorce decree if applicable.
• For parents who married after the birth of the child: Declaration of paternity or custody
• For children over the age of three: Proof of the absence of a KiTa place (cancellation, waiting list)
• For children under one year of age or children over three years of age with more than 30 hours of care per week: proof of working hours, etc. of both parents or the single parent
• In the case of day care in another district: copy of the care permit
• If available, family card incl. recharge receipt
• If available, bonus cards of both parents or of the single parent

The costs of day care will only be covered from the date of receipt of the application.

Depending on the completeness of the documents, the processing time is usually between 4 and 8 weeks.
