Report damage and malfunctions

Have you noticed damage to public facilities in the Stuttgart city area? Are there problems with the sewer system in your street? Have you noticed a faulty traffic light? Or the sidewalk on your footpath is damaged?

Then use our  fault indicator (opens in a new tab) to report the problem to us.

  • Damage to public facilities
The city council would be grateful for any information that would help to repair damage to public facilities (e.g. swimming pools, halls, sewage disposal, day-care facilities).
  • Sewer malfunctions
The  Sewer Operations department is responsible for the following issues: odor nuisance, rectification of problems with rainwater basins and sewage pumping stations as well as blocked sewers or street drains. You can also get help if your key has fallen down the drain or if you have sewage in your cellar. The  Data Management department can provide information on the sewer network and sewer plans.
  • Road and sidewalk damage
The employees of the Civil Engineering Department check the condition of the roads at regular intervals - and arrange for damaged areas to be repaired if necessary. Help us to identify damage quickly and report known problems. You can also report defects in sidewalks and carriageways or overgrown greenery in the sidewalk area.
  • Defective street lighting
The Civil Engineering Department , Roads and Traffic is responsible for the planning and installation of street lighting.  Stuttgart Netze GmbH is responsible for maintenance on behalf of the city. Stuttgart Netze Betriebs GmbH is also the point of contact if street lights have to be relocated or temporarily removed due to construction work. You can report faults by telephone on 0800 4804-407 and by e-mail to  strassenbeleuchtungstuttgart-netzede.
  • Faults with traffic lights and traffic signs
You can report malfunctions at traffic lights online or by calling +49 711 28942215. You can report faults with traffic signs that have been erected due to roadworks to the  Civil Engineering Office either by phone or email. The Civil Engineering Office can also help you with damaged or missing traffic signs and/or street name signs. The  Stuttgart waste management company is responsible for all other (fixed) traffic signs on public roads.
