Events and special uses of public green areas - apply for permission

For district festivals, club festivals, events of kindergartens and schools or similar events on public green spaces you need a transfer of use.

The Garden, Cemetery and Forestry Office handles the transfer of use for events on green spaces and parks of the state capital Stuttgart. The employees support the organizers with the application and advise them on all questions that arise as a result of the application. Under certain circumstances, further permits must be obtained from the Office for Public Order.

In principle, events in green spaces are only possible if they do not disproportionately restrict the public use of the green space, do not serve a commercial purpose and promote the social, cultural or health interests of the Stuttgart population.

In principle, a fee will be charged for the use, which is based on the area used and the duration of the event.

Note: Circus guest performances or similar events are only possible on a few suitable areas and only in a limited number per year.

Note: Private events such as company parties or birthday celebrations are not possible in public green spaces.
