With the "Wasenboje", the city offers a safe place to go for girls and women at the folk festival

For the start of the Cannstatter Volksfest on Friday, September 26, the city of Stuttgart is once again offering a safe place to go on site for girls, women and anyone who identifies themselves accordingly.

The "Wasenboje" is a "safe space" in the form of a container in which specially trained and exclusively female professionals help girls and women in critical situations. Such situations can arise in connection with sexual harassment, psychological crises or disorientation due to alcohol consumption.

Girls and women can also find low-threshold support at the "Wasenboje", for example if their cell phone battery is empty or they need help getting home.

The "Wasenboje" is located in the immediate vicinity of the German Red Cross and the Wasenwache. The container with the neon green logo is open every day from 1 pm throughout the festival period.

The "Wasenboje" is a project of the Municipal Crime Prevention Unit and the Department for Equal Opportunities of the City of Stuttgart. The "Safer Space" was first offered at the Cannstatter Volksfest in 2023 and has since become an integral part of the safety concept at the folk and spring festival. Since then, more than 700 girls and women have taken advantage of the support of the "Wasenboje".

Information on the project can be found at  nachtboje.stuttgart.de/wasenboje.
