Budget

IBA'27 projects

The state capital Stuttgart is reaffirming its central role in the International Building Exhibition 2027 (IBA'27) by providing significant planning funds in the 2024/2025 double budget.

The provision of planning funds in the 2024/2025 double budget underlines the City of Stuttgart's clear commitment to future-oriented and sustainable urban development as part of IBA'27.

The ongoing projects and network plans such as the 'Neue Mitte Leonhardsvorstadt', Weissenhof, Böckingerstraße, as well as the 'Zukunft Münster 2050', Neckarpark Q11 and Q11.1 projects and the 'Vernetzung Vaihingen Bahnhof' project are being driven forward through the provision of planning funds. A particular highlight is the planned visitor and information center at Weissenhof, which is to be completed by the end of 2026 in order to adequately welcome the expected international visitors.

The focus is also on the IBA'27 network projects, including the coordination of the interim use of urban spaces, the IBA Spotlight with innovative projects and the "AufentHaltstelle Zukunft". It creates meeting spaces and promotes the exchange of forward-looking ideas such as the upcycling of the goblet column formwork from the Stuttgart railroad station.

The so-called "Maker City" in sub-area C1 is being planned around the Wagenhallen as a place for productive-creative pilot projects and new concepts for the mixed city. The provision of planning funds will enable the sustainable development of this important cultural location.
