The state capital Stuttgart allows internships in various areas. An internship is a good way to get to know the diverse work of public administration. Internships are allocated on the basis of application, subject to availability.

Pupils and students have the opportunity to complete an internship at the City of Stuttgart, for example at the Office for Urban Planning and Housing.

School pupils and students have the opportunity to gain an insight into everyday working life during career orientation days or compulsory internships during their studies.

We offer you a look behind the scenes of a modern municipal administration. Career orientation days are available in the following departments:

  • District Council Offices
  • Cultural Office
  • Health Office
  • Civil Engineering Office
  • City Library

Application

We are also happy to forward applications to other desired offices or departments. Please send your application documents (letter of motivation, CV, school certificate) to the following address at least six weeks before the desired start of the internship:

We will check whether an internship can be offered in the specified period and in the desired area. Application documents from students who have to complete a compulsory internship during their studies will be forwarded to the relevant departments.
