Anyone looking down on Stuttgart from the Killesberg tower can see particularly clearly from up here how green the state capital is. A very special green area is the so-called "Green U" with its numerous cultural-historical and scenic attractions.
As early as the 1920s, there were plans to connect Stuttgart's various parks, and the project was implemented in 1993 as part of the International Horticultural Exhibition. Viewed from the city center, the green corridor begins with the Schlossgarten and continues through the Villa Berg Park, the Rosenstein Park, the Leibfried Garden and the Wartberg.
The Höhenpark Killesberg forms the conclusion of the "Green U". Those traveling with children can visit the animal enclosures, the large playground and the historic fair, or take a ride on the Killesbergbahn. In the summer months, the dahlia show with over 10,000 flowers delights visitors young and old. Those who still have enough energy left after the tour can climb the Killesberg tower and look down on one of Stuttgart's most beautiful green spaces.
