The necessary prerequisites are created by the financial support of the department for the promotion of independent spons ors of the youth welfare office. Valid funding principles are developed for all providers and adapted to the framework conditions specified by the municipal council and legislation. Furthermore, the providers are informed about current changes and the necessary agreements are made with the providers.

In addition to supporting independently run day care centers, the department enables a wide range of services in the following areas by awarding grants:
- Child and youth work

- General family counseling and life counseling

- Social care for schoolchildren
- Financial management of the state program STÄRKE
- Migration services and unaccompanied minor refugees
