Composition Award of the City of Stuttgart

The city of Stuttgart has been awarding a composition prize since 1955. The aim of the competition is to promote composers and pave the way for contemporary music to enter the public consciousness.

The composition prize awarded by the state capital Stuttgart is an important recognition on a national level.

Call for entries for the 71st Composition Prize for 2026 paused

The current competition will be suspended for the time being. Applicants who have already submitted their works will be informed of this change and invited to apply again in 2026.
