The Job Center works closely with other authorities and institutions to ensure that you can continue to live independently in the future, lead a regular life, and take up employment or training. The staff will be happy to advise you on your personal options and benefit entitlements as well as the corresponding housing and assistance options.
Threat of homelessness
Impending homelessness exists, for example, if you have been given notice or your fixed-term tenancy agreement expires or cannot be extended and you are unable to find new accommodation without official help. Being released from prison, a home or other institution can also mean you are faced with the threat of homelessness. The staff at the Jobcenter will help you to prevent the loss of your home if possible and thus avoid homelessness. Please discuss the impending loss with the Jobcenter at an early stage.
Make an appointment and contact the Jobcenter branch (opens in a new tab) in your area or the specialist office for people in housing need. If you do not receive a citizen's allowance, you can contact the specialist office for people in housing need directly.
Unacceptable living conditions
Unacceptable living conditions include, for example, unusually cramped living space, hygienic and structural deficiencies of the living space, an unacceptably high rent or escalating conflicts in living together with others. The Jobcenter staff, in close cooperation with the Stuttgart Tenants' Association, will support you in improving your housing situation as far as possible. The Jobcenter usually pays the fees during the consultation with the Mieterverein.
