Inspection of construction files

In the building file you will find the decisions of the building law and the technical building certificates. Building files that are needed for ongoing or not yet built projects can be found in the corresponding building departments or further processing (for example, at the City Surveyor's Office).

You can inspect the register of building encumbrances at the Citizen Service Building. The register of building encumbrances lists encumbrances under public law that rest on a property. These are, for example

• Access easements,
• Distance area encumbrances for other properties,
• surface construction encumbrances,
• parking space encumbrances,
  development easements,
• but also notes, for example with regard to contracts under public law.

These building encumbrances are only entered in the register of building encumbrances, but not in the land register. If you wish to purchase a property, you should therefore not only consult the land register, but also the register of building encumbrances at the Building Citizens' Service of the Building Law Office.

The register of building encumbrances is digitalized. Information can only be obtained digitally and is subject to a fee. Orders via the  online store (opens in a new tab) are generally also paid for online and made available via a download link. For written orders, delivery up to a total size of 10 MB including the fee notice will be made by e-mail. If you have not provided an e-mail address or if the file size exceeds 10 MB, delivery will only be made by post on a new data carrier (USB stick), which will be provided at cost price.

If you are unable to use a data carrier (USB stick) and would prefer a printout instead, please state this explicitly when placing your order. Please note that making printouts will incur additional costs. We will only make copies and send them by post with your express confirmation.
