Prostitution

The city of Stuttgart helps female and male prostitutes with medical advice and preventive services. The aim is both to combat infectious diseases and to make it easier to leave prostitution.

Social counseling for prostitutes: in the joint contact point Café La Strada and Café Strich-Punkt.

The high pressure of competition, lack of prospects, violence and dependency relationships create problems. The risk of sexually transmitted diseases is particularly high in this milieu, and prostitutes are often discriminated against or even forced into prostitution.

Out of ignorance or shame, many prostitutes do not accept the city's offers of help. For this reason, one of the city's approaches is to offer the lowest-threshold contact points and counseling services possible. In addition, the state capital promotes various offers for prevention.

Counseling for prostitutes

The counseling is about support in everyday life with psychosocial problems and addiction, economic problems and alternative life perspectives.

Specially trained staff from the fields of medicine and social work take care of the concerns of prostitutes. This includes adequate help and advice, support for people working in prostitution as well as exit assistance and help for self-help.

All employees are bound by confidentiality, and counseling is available in almost any language.
