State capital Stuttgart

Bike

Wheel and partner

More can be achieved together, which is why the City of Stuttgart works together with many stakeholders. Surveys on projects or exchanges with specialist groups at municipal or state level. If you want to join in and have your say, you will find lots of information, offers and active cyclists in Stuttgart.

The Radforum is committed to making Stuttgart even more bicycle-friendly and, for example, to designating more cycle lanes. Eberhardstraße in the city center has been a bicycle street since 2019.

Updating the cycling concept

Making Stuttgart a bicycle-friendly city - that is the goal we have been pursuing since 2019. To this end, the cycling concept from 2009 is being updated in a two-stage process. All those interested in cycling in Stuttgart were able to take part in the first stage - the BYPAD analysis of strengths and weaknesses:

Citizen participation

Mobility concerns everyone. That's why we also ask local citizens how cycling in their district is or can be improved. There are many projects on our  Stuttgart-Meine-Stadt (opens in a new tab) participation portal that you can take part in. Such as the survey on the  pop-up cycle lane (opens in a new tab) in Kaltental.

Bike forum

Have your say, join in the planning! Under this motto, a wide variety of organizations came together in the Stuttgart Cycling Forum in 2006. The aim of the cycling forum is to interactively shape the promotion of cycling in the state capital. Participants are involved in the city's planning work and can take part in discussions. At the same time, they contribute their own suggestions, initiate projects and formulate demands to politicians.

Under the leadership of Mayor Peter Pätzold, the Cycling Forum meets annually in a plenary session. In addition, various project groups have been set up to deal with issues such as cycling infrastructure and cycling in the city districts.
