Stuttgart "Woodpecker Trail" downhill route

The track is open daily from sunrise to sunset. In case of bad weather conditions (fog, heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, snow, squalls, etc.), as well as at dawn and dusk, driving on the track is prohibited. The track will be closed during inspection and repair works.

Riding on the downhill course is only permitted with a technically perfect, well-maintained mountain bike (downhill, freeride, enduro) and suitable protective equipment. Suitable protective equipment includes a full-face helmet, protectors for chest, back, elbows and legs as well as gloves and neck protection.

In order to ensure optimum protection for each user, the Office for Sport and Exercise recommends that, in addition to complying with the technical equipment regulations, the route should only be used when accompanied by another person. Persons under the age of 14 are only permitted to use the trail if accompanied by an adult.

The descent of the Woodpecker Trail begins below Albplatz in Degerloch and ends at Karl-Kloß-Straße in Stuttgart-Heslach. Bikers are requested to only use the exit along Karl-Kloß-Straße and not to ride through Eierstraße or Eiernest.

The use and riding of the downhill track is at your own risk! The operator of the track is not liable for any damage incurred when using the track. Each user is liable for self-inflicted damage to third parties. This includes personal injury as well as property damage.

Despite maintenance, damage to the surface and track elements may occur. Users are requested to inform the Office of Sport and Exercise of any damage or defects on the track immediately after becoming aware of them, indicating the location and type of damage. Repairs will be carried out only by authorized specialists.
