What are Parklets?
The term Parklets refers to all structures as creatively designed lounges for the general public that are placed in parking lots or other public areas available to road users.

For which locations can the permit be applied for?
City area of Stuttgart on public traffic areas in the city districts:

  • City center districts.
    S-West, S-South, S-East, S-North, S-Center
  • Bad Cannstatt

Where is the installation of parklets not possible?

  • on streets with a speed limit of more than 30 km/h
  • on streets with regular bus traffic
  • five meters in front of and behind street junctions and intersections
  • five meters in front of and behind crosswalks, pedestrian lights and railroad crossings
  • on areas with other uses (e.g. driveways, fire protection zones, cabs, handicapped parking spaces, loading zones, bicycle, car sharing or electric charging spaces)
  • in front of listed buildings or urban development complexes
