Request simple certificate of good conduct

Police certificates of good conduct provide information on whether or not the person named in the certificate has a criminal record. Employers therefore often require the submission of a certificate of good conduct before hiring a new employee.

There are two types of simple certificates of good conduct:
  • the "private certificate of good conduct" (for private purposes)
  • the "Behördenführungszeugnis" (for submission to a German authority).

The data of the certificate of good conduct comes from the Federal Central Register.
