Eberhardstraße bicycle lane
Eberhardstraße is reserved for cyclists and selected traffic, including delivery traffic, cabs and cars of severely disabled people with a blue parking permit. The bicycle lane is part of a package of measures to increase the attractiveness of the city center: less traffic means more quality of stay. Eberhardstrasse now has an additional 68 square meters for outdoor catering. To achieve this, the parking areas were raised to sidewalk level. In addition, numerous seating cubes and bicycle racks have been installed.
Traffic regulations
In Eberhardstraße, changed access regulations for motorized traffic (motor vehicles and motorized two-wheelers) have been in effect between Torstraße and Holzstraße since November 2019:
- Delivery traffic is allowed between 5 am and 11 am.
- Cabs and severely disabled people with a blue parking permit can continue to use the bicycle lane and park in the designated parking spaces for severely disabled people.
- Those driving in Nadlerstraße from the direction of the Rathausgarage in the direction of Hauptstätter Straße may only cross Eberhardstraße and will be directed straight ahead out of this area via Dornstraße.
Note: This regulation is still valid during the construction work around Eichstraße/Töpferplatz, after that Nadlerstraße between Töpferstraße and Eberhardstraße will become a pedestrian zone.
For the omitted parking spaces for cabs and two-wheelers, replacements have been created in Hauptstätter Straße and the electric charging station has been relocated to Wilhelmsplatz.
