Lost property - search or hand in

If you find an item that is worth more than 10 euros, you must hand it in or report it. Found items can be handed in or collected from the lost and found office and the district town halls. Police stations also accept lost property outside the opening hours of the lost and found office.

Note: If you are looking for an item, please contact the municipal lost and found office first.

Loss of cell phones
The Stuttgart lost and found office records the device data (card number/IMEI number) of found cell phones. An original invoice, the IMEI or card number and an identity card or passport must be presented before the phone can be handed over.

Loss of bicycles
If you do not know the frame number, you can find out by telephone whether the bicycle has been handed in, stating the make and color. In any case, you must appear in person to collect the bicycle.

Lost keys
Due to the large number of keys received, it is only possible to contact the lost and found office by telephone or e-mail within four weeks of the date of loss. Outside of this period, a personal search at the lost and found office is possible.

Lost property in the area of transport companies
If an item has been lost or found in the area of transport companies (vehicles, stops, bus shelters), please contact Deutsche Bahn or SSB.

Lost property in the airport area
If an item has been lost or found in the airport area, please contact the airport's lost and found office.

Lost property at the Cannstatter Wasen
If you have lost property at the fair or spring festival, please contact the Cannstatter Wasen lost and found office. After the end of the fair or spring festival, lost items must be returned there, at the earliest one week later to the municipal lost and found office.
