During production, packaging, storage, preparation and finally consumption, food comes into contact with objects made of different materials. These objects are referred to as food contact materials. They are defined in Article 1 of Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 as materials or articles intended to come into contact with food, already in contact with food or likely to come into contact with food or to transfer their constituents to food during foreseeable use. Do you have a company that manufactures, handles or places on the market food contact materials and articles as a finished product? If this is not yet registered as a food business and not yet registered with the competent authority, you must report this.
