Apply for an international driver's license

The International Driving License is a translation of the national driving license and is recommended for travel outside Europe. In which countries an International Driving License is compulsory can be obtained from the automobile clubs, tour operators or the respective embassy or foreign office.

You do not need the international driver's license within the European Union and the contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).

The International Driving License is valid for up to three years. Should you be in possession of a C or D class, the period of validity must be adapted to the expiry of this class, in case it should be less than three years.
