You must have changes to your name or company name noted in your vehicle documents.
Please note:
- In the case of companies and freelancers, changes can only be made at the vehicle registration office.
- If it is a name change where the vehicle is financed/leased, the registration certificate part II must be sent to the vehicle registration office and the change can only be made there.
Prerequisites
You have changed your personal name or your company name or you have moved.
Procedure
You or your authorized representative must apply for the change at the responsible vehicle registration office as soon as possible.
The vehicle registration office will automatically forward the change notification to the responsible main customs office.

- Identity card or passport of the owner
- Registration certificate part II (formerly vehicle registration document)
- If you have a financed / leased vehicle, the financing or leasing bank must send us the registration certificate part II by post. The name can only be changed once this has been sent to us. Please note that you must provide us with the number of your registration certificate part II or the previous license plate number.
- Registration certificate part I (formerly vehicle registration document)
- Power of attorney for authorized persons
- Identity card or passport of the authorized person

The changes must be noted in the registration certificates as soon as possible.
