Motor vehicle license plate - report loss

One or both license plates of the motor vehicle were lost or stolen.

You present the required documents to the registration office and report the plate(s) as lost. The vehicle is assigned a new license plate. The new vehicle documents (registration certificate parts I and II) are printed. After payment at the automatic pay station, you have the new license plates embossed. The previous license plate is put out for search and blocked for ten years so that it can no longer be assigned.

• Identity card or passport
• Registration certificate part II (vehicle registration document) -> For financed vehicles, the vehicle registration document must be sent to the vehicle registration office.
• Registration certificate part I (vehicle registration document)
• Previous license plates (if available)
• Test report from the general inspection
• Authorized representatives require a power of attorney, their own ID and the ID of the person granting the power of attorney
• Declaration on the whereabouts of the license plate

For legal entities: Commercial register or business registration, ID of the managing director, declaration of loss by the managing director, power of attorney of the managing director
