Severely disabled persons with the signs G and B with a simultaneous functional disorder of the heart or the respiratory organs, Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, due to an artificial bowel outlet and at the same time an artificial urinary diversion or who are to be equated with the aforementioned groups of persons according to the determination under pension law, can receive an exemption permit (orange parking permit). The orange parking permit is only valid within Germany and does not entitle the holder to park in designated parking spaces for severely disabled persons.
If you have an orange parking permit, you have the following parking privileges
(provided there is no other parking facility within a reasonable distance):
- Parking for up to three hours in restricted no-stopping locations. A longer parking time may be approved for certain no-stopping routes. The arrival time must be evident from the setting on a parking disc.
- Exceeding the authorized parking time in the area of a no zone stop.
- Parking in excess of the permitted time in areas designated by "Parking" or "Parking on Sidewalks" traffic signs and for which a parking time limit is imposed by an additional sign.
- Parking during loading hours in pedestrian zones where loading and unloading is authorized for specific times.
- Parking in resident parking lots for up to three hours. The time of arrival must be evident from the setting of a parking disc.
- Parking without charge and time limit at parking meters and parking ticket machines. The maximum parking time allowed is 24 hours.
- Parking in designated traffic-calmed areas outside of marked parking stalls, if you do not disproportionately interfere with other traffic (especially moving traffic).
Note: You must display the parking permit clearly visible behind the windshield and carry the exemption permit with you at all times.
