Special use of public traffic areas for information stands without commercial background

So that non-profit organizations, political parties, trade unions, citizens' initiatives and interest groups can inform citizens about their mostly voluntary work, information stands up to a size of three square meters are permitted in certain areas. Information material can be displayed here, but may not be distributed as people walk around. For urban development reasons, no tents, pavilions or vehicles may be parked at the stands. The information may not be business or tourist advertising. Additional actions such as music, use of loudspeakers are not allowed.

When setting up information stands, a distinction is made between two areas:

  1. City of Stuttgart (except city center, old town Bad Cannstatt and restricted area Neckarpark see below).

In the city area of the state capital Stuttgart, information stands are issued limited to the respective city district (see Appendix 1  Information on setting up information stands PDF-File 4,25 MB). Information stands can be set up anywhere where they do not obstruct any road users. The installation is permissible if
    • a residual width of 2.00 m remains on sidewalks or, in the case of installation on the street side, an additional distance of 0.50 m from the roadway.
    • a minimum distance of 5.00 m from road junctions, crossings, crosswalks, traffic lights and level crossings is maintained.
    • fire protection zones are not affected.
    • driveways and exits as well as house and store entrances are kept clear.
    • on shared footpaths and cycle paths (traffic sign no. 240).
    • on separate footpaths and cycle paths (traffic sign no. 241-30).
    • on sidewalks with additional sign Cyclists free (traffic sign no. 1022-10).
  2. Stuttgart city center / City Ring, Old Town Bad Cannstatt and restricted area Neckarpark
The city center area as well as the old town in Bad Cannstatt (Marktstraße) are among the most frequented areas in Stuttgart. For this reason, information booths are only allocated here at specified locations and for a maximum of three days per week (see Annex 2 + 3  Information on setting up information booths PDF-File 4,25 MB).

Note: No information stands may be set up within the restricted area Neckarpark.
