Are you in possession of a valid permit to handle explosive substances and wish to carry out a blasting operation? Then you must report this blasting to the local competent authority.
If, for example, you want to carry out a building or chimney blast or a blast during road construction work, you must notify the local competent authority. The notification must be made by the holder of a permit in accordance with the Explosives Act. If changes are made to the contents or the original documents after the notification has been made, the person obliged to notify must also notify the local competent authority.
Note: Blasting that is not carried out with explosives but with pyrotechnic objects (rock-breaking cartridges) must also be reported.
You do not have to report blasting in facilities that are approved in accordance with Section 4 of the Federal Immission Control Act and the approval includes blasting (for example, this may be the case for quarries).
