Management position
The Audit Office is part of the city administration and is responsible for the so-called local audit of the city's financial management, including the underlying administrative transactions. The tasks of the Audit Office are set out in the municipal code (Sections 110 to 112) and in the municipal audit regulations and include auditing the correctness of budget implementation and accounting as well as auditing the organization and efficiency of the municipal administration, including the municipal enterprises.
The Audit Office is independent and not bound by instructions when performing the audit tasks assigned to it. It also reports directly to the Lord Mayor (Section 109 of the Municipal Code).
The tasks of the Audit Office are divided into the following four departments:
The Central Internal Reporting Office and Central Anti-Corruption Office are also part of the Audit Office.
