The "Construction, Operation and Maintenance" department is divided into two areas:

• "Construction" department
• Operation and Maintenance" department

This department is responsible for the coordination of construction projects in the area of SSB AG's underground light rail systems as well as municipal bridge structures, road tunnels and underground parking garages.
This department is also responsible for public relations work and on-site support for affected residents.

Construction department
This department deals with the construction of light rail tunnels, fire protection equipment at underground light rail stops, bridge structures and municipal underground car parks.
The department is heavily involved in the process of tendering, awarding and invoicing the respective trades. This department is also responsible for supervising the commissioned engineering firms and experts, as well as the involvement of external or internal specialist planners and the city's specialist departments.
The department is also responsible for supporting residents.
Among other things, the department deals with the construction and traffic management of the major B10 Rosenstein Tunnel / Leuzeknoten project. In addition to the wide range of tasks, the department and its employees are also responsible for supporting local residents and for public relations work as part of the major project.
Other tasks currently include the replacement of various bridge structures and the retrofitting of fire protection systems in underground SSB stops.

Operation and maintenance
This department is responsible for monitoring traffic safety for all Stuttgart pedestrian underpasses, light rail access points and municipal parking garages. In addition to planning, tendering, monitoring and invoicing the execution of maintenance and repair work on the structures, the department is also responsible for removing graffiti, posters and other soiling.
