A wide range of tasks are bundled in the Strategy for Sewage Treatment Plants and Sewer Operations department.

The management systems of Stadtentwässerung Stuttgart (SES), consisting of quality management, environmental management and energy management for the sewage treatment plants and sewer operations, are part of this department.

The public relations team of the Strategy department supports the SES management in communicating the relevant content.

The development and implementation of strategic concepts for maintaining the infrastructure and optimizing the plants as well as legal and social requirements are among the tasks of the Strategy department, which is also responsible for overarching projects such as research and development projects, digitalization and operational optimization projects as well as the implementation of obligations in accordance with the Wastewater Levy Act.
